I started regularly exercising several years ago, but I was getting nowhere and I hit a major plateau. Last July I joined the summer challenge at Snap Fitness where I attended a couple of classes a week and the trainers coached me on nutrition. This really accelerated my results and created a path to my goals. My main goals were to lower my body fat percentage, increase strength and look more toned.
Following the nutrition plan was not always easy and sometimes a journey in and of itself, but I knew it was the correct and sustainable way of losing body fat. I soon realized that maintaining the nutrition plan that the trainers gave me allowed me to work better in the gym and made me a happier person. The trainers are great teachers and motivators, and truly want their clients to be successful in health for the rest of their lives.

I started this journey in 2015. I had been working out at a gym prior with very little results. I had gotten to the point I did not like to have my picture taken and I thought I was stuck with my body. I did not like to go clothes shopping as nothing made me look good. It wasn’t the clothes! I then met the folks from Quad City Performance. One of the first things they told me was I needed to eat more. Well that was crazy, it just didn’t make any sense. I had always been told to loose weight you had to eat bland foods and as few calories as possible. I ignored their recommendations and continued to see minimal results. It wasn’t until I gave up on my approach, and did as they recommended, I saw amazing results. I went from a size 14 to a size 6. I am in the best shape I have ever been in my life! I have more energy to do things than ever before. I am sleeping soundly as night. I am truly enjoying all types of foods! I now listen to what they tell me to do with my diet and workout regime. For the first time in my life I am able to look at myself in the mirror and be proud of what I see. This new a lifestyle I won’t be giving up!

When I started this journey, I thought my goal was to just lose weight. When asked how committed I was, I decided then and there, I needed to be fully committed to this experience. Whatever my trainers were going to tell me to do, I decided I would follow their instructions to the letter and I have. In two months, I have lost weight, but that’s not all. I had to relearn nutrition and exercise. I used to believe only cardio would get me to my goal. I’d never lifted more than 10lbs. I thought I could continue to eat whatever I wanted as long as I exercise. I had to relearn and rethink everything. I hated to diet and exercise before and now I enjoy it.
